Leech Lake Tribal College Seeks Community Input on Strategic Plan
CASS LAKE- The Leech Lake Tribal College is set to host a series of community meetings in order to gather community feedback on their 2019-2025 strategic plan.
The meetings will begin at 5:30 PM each night at the following community centers: Onigum on Wednesday, October 2nd; Ball Club on Thursday, October 3rd; and Sugar Point on Wednesday, October 9th.
The college has identified these 5 focus areas: (1) ACADEMIC FOCUS, Provide accredited and certified degree programs, while measuring quality of learning, to prepare students in transferring to a four year institution and enter the work force. (2) CULTURAL FOCUS, Provide a means of maintaining and enhancing Anishinaabe culture, values, language, and knowledge. (3) COMMUNITY FOCUS, Holistically service as a cultural and educational center for students and community. (4) PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOCUS, Encourage and support the professional development of faculty and staff. (5) ECONOMIC FOCUS. LLTC attains and manages resources to provide vital capabilities to all areas; personnel, fiscal, physical, and technological.
All community members are invited to attend these meetings and provide their input on the future of the college. In addition to the strategic planning session, several Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Programs, including Energy Assistance, will be on hand to provide information and take applications. A dinner of Chili & Frybread will also be served each night.
