Leech Lake Tribal College Named Best Community College in U.S.
The Leech Lake Tribal College (LLTC) received some stellar news to kick off this school year. WalletHub, a personal finance website, ranked LLTC the number one community college in the nation for overall quality.
The study rated more than 720 community and technical colleges on a variety of factors including price, student-teacher ratio, job placement and graduation rates.
Pat Broker, Leech Lake’s interim president, says the school stands out because of its “family feel” – its ability to be both a safe haven and a launching pad for students.
“They can come and build strong relationships in this very stimulating environment, whereby we present a number of opportunities for them to explore as they make decisions about their life on into the future,” she states.
Leech Lake Tribal College offers nine (9) degree programs, a men’s and women’s basketball team, and classes in Ojibwemowin, Traditional Arts, Business, and Carpentry. Full registration information and course offerings can be viewed on the LLTC website www.lltc.edu .
Leech Lake Tribal College was established via tribal resolution by the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in 1990.
